As we enter the new year, WLC is proud of the projects we completed in 2024 knowing our team helped improve the communities we call home. From infrastructure improvements to community trail designs, no two projects were the same and we’re grateful to have played a role in each one completed throughout the year. We look forward to what 2025 has to offer, but in the meantime, here are some highlights of 2024.
Community Improvement
WLC has played a role in several trail and pathway projects throughout Casper, Wyoming. In 2024, we were thrilled to complete Phase 1 of the Lathrop Concrete Pathway Project. The pathway is a start to furthering access to physical activity and nonmotorized transportation for residents to connect to businesses, bus routes, restaurants, and other amenities. It is a great addition to the Town of Evansville and has the potential to be connected further east to the existing Rails to Trails pathway.
Street Project
Last year, WLC provided surfacing improvements for several streets in Rolling Hills, Wyoming. Rolling Hills’ roads are unique, as they were constructed using several layers of chip seal surfacing rather than asphalt. For this project, WLC recommended areas in the Town for full-depth repairs on existing road potholes and new chip seal surfacing for the aging roads. Additionally, the newly constructed roads in the Antelope Hills Residential Subdivision received a double chip seal surfacing treatment, providing residents with hard-surfaced roads at a fraction of the cost of asphalt.
Infrastructure Improvement
One important infrastructure improvement project WLC served on in 2024 was the Evansville Sidewalk Design project. Along with assisting in the grant application for funding of the project, WLC provided survey and design plans for new sidewalks on portions of several streets throughout the Town of Evansville. The new sidewalks not only improve the overall quality of the neighborhoods, but they allow pedestrians to safely travel throughout this portion of the Town.
Municipal Project
In 2024, WLC was hired by the Town of Mills to design the replacement of approximately 25 fire hydrants (some were installed between the 1940s through the 1970s!). This project provides the Town with new fire hydrants that are the same model as existing hydrants so they can continue to easily maintain them without having to keep different parts in stock for different hydrants. Replacing the aging hydrants provides peace of mind for the community and more reliable fire suppression in the areas where they were replaced.
This list names only a few of the projects WLC completed in 2024. For a larger preview of all WLC projects, take a look at our portfolio.
