WLC was hired by the Town of Evansville to design a 10-foot-wide concrete pathway along Lathrop Road in Evansville, Wyoming. The project began in 2021 when WLC provided grant writing services to assist the Town in obtaining a WYDOT Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) grant to fund the project. After securing funding, WLC completed the preliminary survey as well as the design of the pathway that will stretch along Lathrop Road from Wyoming Boulevard to the Aspen Community Housing Development. The location of the project required WLC to design the pathway between Lathrop Road and the existing row of businesses and their respective landscaping. WLC’s services also included materials testing, construction surveying, and construction contract administration.
The pathway is a start to furthering access to nonmotorized transportation for residents to connect to businesses, bus routes, restaurants, and other amenities. It is a great addition to the Town of Evansville and has the potential to be connected further east to the existing Rails to Trails pathway. The grant provided funding for the Town to construct the concrete pathway for half a mile; the remaining portion will be included in Phase II of the project set to begin in late 2025. This project was completed on time and within budget.
