fire hydrant replacement

WLC was hired by the Town of Mills for a fire hydrant replacement project within the Town. WLC provided civil engineering design for the replacement of approximately 25 fire hydrants in areas where some hydrants were known to have issues as well as those in older parts of the Town installed between the 1940s through the 1970s. Our team worked with funding through a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) administered by Wyoming Community Development Authority with a set budget. In order to stay within this set budget, WLC scaled portions of the project back keep construction costs within budget. Additionally, our team carefully and strategically selected the fire hydrants that needed replacement while trying to eliminate unforeseen construction costs during replacement.

Overall, this project provides the Town of Mills with new fire hydrants that are the same model as existing hydrants so they can continue to easily maintain them without having to keep different parts in stock for different hydrants. Replacing the aging hydrants provides peace of mind for the community and more reliable fire suppression in the areas they were replaced. The project was completed on time and within budget.
