WLC Projects: 2022 in Review

wlc projects

Looking back at the past year reminds us at WLC that 2022 was a year full of successfully completed projects that we are grateful to be a part of. WLC is proud of our teams and their work on each and every project year after year. Take a look back with us on some specific projects WLC assisted and completed in 2022.

Casper College Visual Arts Building

Years in the making, the Casper College Visual Arts Building opened for student learning and visual arts department use during the 2022 fall semester. WLC provided civil engineering design for the building site which now brings a modern addition to the Casper College campus. Along with civil design, WLC performed the site survey and assisted with the construction administration of the civil components of the redeveloped site.

Casper State Office Building

After the grand opening in April 2022, the Casper State Office Building is the new home for nearly 400 employees in several state departments. WLC worked with Stateline No. 7 Architects and Tallgrass Landscaping on the design of the site. Additionally, WLC provided civil engineering design to encourage walking and biking in the area. After planning and demolition began in 2019, the three-story facility now sits on on 11 acres of land with 110,000 square feet of usable space.

Cowboy Aviation Hangar Design

WLC was hired by Cowboy Aviation to provide civil engineering services and construction contract administration for the hangar design. Located at the Casper/Natrona County International Airport, WLC provided civil design engineering for a portion of the hangar. We gave special consideration to the fire suppression system for the hangar that required detailed coordination with the fire suppression designer.

Shirley Basin Mine Reclamation

As with many projects in Wyoming, work is often paused and resumed during the winter months. During summer 2022, WLC completed materials testing for the mine reclamation in the Shirley Rim area. WLC provided density testing for fill being placed on the mine site and provided density results to the owner on a weekly basis. This includes mapping and collecting GPS locations of the tests taken. WLC was onsite twice a week during the fill operations and took approximately 300 tests over the course of the project.

Industrial Avenue Storm Sewer and Street Improvements

After completing Phase I in 2021, WLC performed civil engineering design for Industrial Avenue Phase 2 stormwater and street improvements in 2022. The project required WLC to design the replacement of existing storm sewer piping with new pipes and replacement of approximately 235’ of sanitary sewer on Ash Street. WLC was the engineer for the City of Casper’s Stormwater Management Master Plan, making WLC deeply familiar with Casper’s stormwater system.

While this is just a small list of projects WLC completed in 2022, you can view many others in our portfolio. We take pride in serving our clients and dedicating our time and expertise to their projects. Learn more about how we work or contact WLC to have our team on your next project.
