In March of 2009, WLC began work on the Three Buttes Wind Farm in Natrona County, Wyoming for Wanzek Heavy/Industrial Constructors. The developer for this project was Duke Energy. WLC provided a variety of materials testing services including nuclear moisture density compaction on roads, tower foundations, crane pads, and utility crossings as well as testing substation soils, compression testing of grout cubes on tower erections, and miscellaneous compression testing of concrete at substation and Operations & Maintenance Building. Wanzek received a completed testing report, including all of the testing results identified, at the conclusion of WLC’s services. These tests help ensure the road and tower foundations were built to design specifications.
