In 2016, WLC Engineering & Surveying was hired by the Saratoga Cemetery District to develop an approximate 5-acre expansion to their existing cemetery. WLC’s services included recovering the boundary of the Saratoga Cemetery, providing alternate layouts, preparing grading plan for selected option, preparing plans and specifications for grading plan, construction observation, materials testing, contract administration, preparing subdivision plat, and staking of all lots and blocks of the proposed Cemetery expansion. The project was phased and Phase 1 has been completed. Phase 1 earthwork consisted of approximately 6,500 c.y of excavation and 4,600 c.y. of embankment to create several tiered areas to allow approximately 1,000 grave sites and 400 cremains sites and development of a 100 vehicle parking lot. Under Phase 2 (2017), curb and gutter and paving will be installed to complete the parking lot.
