PacifiCorp hired WLC Engineering and Surveying to assist in the process of upgrading the electrical system in Sublette County including several transmission and distribution projects in the Pinedale, La Barge, Big Piney, and Farson areas. These areas are home to the Jonah and Pinedale Anticline natural gas fields, which are major gas fields within the State. WLC provided surveying, mapping, right-of-way easements, and structure staking surveys on these projects. Due to environmental restrictions regarding wildlife migration patterns in the areas, WLC faced a unique challenge. WLC was required to avoid or vacate certain areas during certain times because of the habitation and migrations restrictions. As a solution, WLC was able to establish a workflow process conforming with environmental needs in each specific area.
