WLC was hired by North Bill Disposal LLC in January of 2014 to design and provide construction services to add two water ponds to the existing oilfield water treatment facility in Bill, Wyoming. This project consisted of designing and overseeing the construction of dirt berms that were 100’ wide at the bottom, 20’ wide at the top, and 17’ in height. The pond sizes were 300’ wide and 300’ long. WLC provided survey, design, construction administration and observation, materials testing, and DEQ permitting. Specifically, materials testing included moisture density testing, soil testing in the lab, and open hole soil sampling and drilling. It was vital that WLC obtained the desired pond volume that our client anticipated. Additionally, there were very complex pieces to the construction of the ponds that WLC was responsible for overseeing. We observed the installation of the HDPE secondary and primary drain liner and the 4” slotted and the 4” solid HDPE leak detection pipe. These were key components to ensuring the ponds drained as designed.
