WLC was hired by Sampson Construction to provide civil engineering design for the Natrona County School District (NCSD) Tennis Facility at Highland Park. In addition to the facility design, WLC also provided land surveying services including the site design for the facility as well as site grading, retaining wall locations and elevations, sidewalks, site survey, and other various improvements. The tennis court facility design includes 10 new post-stressed concrete tennis courts, 650 LF of component block retaining walls up to 9’ tall, tiered spectator seating, miscellaneous sidewalks and other site improvements. The poor soil conditions and ground water on the project site required rammed aggregate piers under portions of the new courts as well as vertical adjustment of several courts and subgrade reinforcement to support the new courts. The new tennis court facility will provide an updated and consolidated facility for the NCSD Tennis Program. WLC assisted the NCSD with multiple layouts and cost estimates in the fall of 2021. The chosen layout was then used as a basis for a Design-Build RFP in which Sampson Construction was chosen to provide Design-Build services for the project. Construction began in August 2022 and is scheduled to be completed in July 2023.
