Casper/Natrona County International Airport (CNCIA) hired WLC Engineering and Surveying to complete the site design for a new fuel farm. Services included grading, surfacing, and utility design as well as construction administration, materials testing, and surveying. Drainage of this site presented challenges during the design phase. As this is an extremely flat site, minimum slopes had to be maintained and did not allow margin for error. By using an innovative combination of slotted drainage structures, WLC was able to solve the drainage problem. WLC was also under the Department of Environmental Quality’s strict timeframe in order to get the Fuel Farm in compliance with the updated regulations. The project was completed on time and under budget.
