WLC is thrilled to announce our team will be a part of the Casper Ice Arena expansion project after being hired by the project’s architect, HTG Architects. WLC has been contracted to provide professional services for the civil site plan for the Casper Ice Arena Expansion for a second sheet of ice that is to be connected to the existing facility.
The site design, set to be completed in 2024, will include design of a second sheet of ice that meets the needs and requirements of the Casper Ice Arena’s existing user groups and a Junior Hockey Club. The facility will include a dryland training area and seating for up to 1,200 guests, though the seating will ultimately be based on WLC’s recommendation for enough seating to support ticket sales for a junior hockey team.
The facility will include a second sheet of ice that will accommodate the growing demand for ice time from guests and ice sports organizations in Casper and the surrounding areas; a comfortable and safe environment for players, coaches, officials and spectators with adequate seating capacity, accessibility, visibility, ventilation, heating and cooling; a sound system and scoreboard; locker rooms; restrooms; concessions; and a dry training area with appropriate flooring, lighting and ventilation. Finally, design will also be compatible with the existing arena architecture, aesthetics and functionality, as well as be compatible with the surrounding neighborhood context and character.
In addition to the site design, WLC will also provide professional land surveying services for the proposed design of the Casper Ice Arena Expansion to recover and collect existing monuments, sanitary and storm sewer utility invert information, existing topographic information, and planimetric features; locate visible utilities and underground private utilities based; and compile and process survey data to create a base map for design in AutoCad. WLC anticipates this project to be an incredible asset to the community and expand ice sports capacity for Casper and the surrounding areas.
