WLC held the 2024 Longevity Awards where our team gathers together to celebrate our employees. The annual event recognizes the hard work and dedication of employees reaching milestones in their careers. Each person marking milestones in five-year increments with WLC receives a Longevity Award. The Award is a demonstration of our appreciation and the incredible value we have for our employees. This year, we are celebrating three truly dedicated team members:
Mark Johnson, Drafting/GIS Technician, 15 years
Joe Salveson, Surveyor, 20 years
Shane Porter, President, 20 years
The Longevity Awards, held each summer, was spent outside enjoying good food and great company. To add to the celebration, WLC also recognized our summer intern, Jace Brezina, who has left to return to the University of Wyoming to continue pursuing his degree in Civil Engineering with a minor in Surveying. He is set to graduate in 2027.
“Our entire team has loved having Jace here at WLC for the summer. He is a rockstar and received lots of hands on training including the Titan job where he was able to get out in the mountains and see how power lines are built. I know his time here will greatly contribute to his education and career,” says WLC President, Shane Porter.
When asked about his internship, Jace expressed how nice and helpful all of the employees are at WLC. Our team helped Jace experience firsthand what a career in civil engineering and surveying in Wyoming looks like. Our goal was to help him gain a realistic understanding of what the job looks like on a day-to-day basis. During his internship, Jace gained experience in materials testing and got an introduction into land surveying which will contribute greatly to his pursuit of a minor in surveying. Jace shared how his experience in materials testing this summer showed him how the projects he will one day design get built.
“WLC has been an amazing internship to have, and I am lucky to have had the chance to spend my summer with this great company. I cannot wait to come back again next summer and work with their team and keep advancing my skills,” says Jace.
WLC is honored to celebrate these employees who add value to our company and continue to provide great work every year. We hope you’ll join us in recognizing these three employees on their achievement. WLC is where we are today thanks to the dedication of our team.
