WLC is proud to announce that two of our team members, Aaron Gow and Steven Langwell, recently completed Certified Survey Technician (CST) Level 1 training through the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS). This certification program further qualifies Aaron and Steven to perform important surveying tasks as part of our company’s land surveying services.
CST training is a four-level certification program for surveying and mapping technicians provided by the NSPS. Recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor, this national certification program offers two tracks, field and office, and gauges “technical capabilities and general knowledge of workplace safety and procedures.” CST also gives important and needed recognition to survey technicians working in public and private companies and allows employers to verify technical surveying competency, further qualifying them for contracts, improving their QA/QC practices, etc. Unlike a professional program, this training does not result in licensure but provides objectives for improvement and advancement for field and office survey technicians as well as recognition of core competency.
Aaron Gow is WLC’s Lead Survey Chief in our Rawlins location. His 30 years in the industry, including five with WLC, contribute to Aaron’s successful completion of CST Level 1 training on April 27, 2020. This accomplishment provides further acknowledgment of Aaron’s understanding of and expertise in various technical surveys, including Geodetic Control Surveys, Topographic Surveys, Boundary Surveys, and ALTA Surveys. His completion of the Level 1 program will continue to benefit his professional growth and WLC’s surveying capabilities.
Steven Langwell is a Survey Technician III, also out of WLC’s Rawlins office. He also completed the CST Level 1 training on April 27, 2020. Within his 3 years with WLC, Steven has crafted his surveying capabilities, demonstrating his expertise in Geodetic Control Surveys, ALTA Surveys, Topographic Surveys, Boundary Surveys, and Construction Layout Surveys. Steven’s CST Level 1 completion further enhances his industry knowledge and technical competency in the field of surveying.
