MORE ACCREDITATIONS FOR WLC EMPLOYEES
CFedS and PE Expand Company’s Credentials

CASPER, Wyo., July 7, 2010 – WLC Engineering and Surveying (WLC), a Casper-based full-service civil and geotechnical engineering, surveying, materials testing, planning, grantwriting, and GIS firm, today announces Paul R. Svenson, L.S., CFedS, senior surveyor and project manager, received his certification as Certified Federal Land Surveyor (CFedS), and Brad Holwegner, P.E., civil engineering project manager, received his Wyoming Professional Engineer (P.E.) License.

“Our employees’ new and additional credentials enable WLC to identify more innovative and effective solutions for our clients,” said Don Davis, corporate president for WLC Engineering and Surveying. “Increased knowledge and capability leads to new ideas, additional services, and faster response time.”

The federal government encourages all private survey firms working on public land surveys to receive the CFedS certification. The program trains registered professional land surveyors on the distinct aspects of land boundary surveys making them uniquely qualified to provide services on Federal Interest lands. Developed by the Department of Interior’s Bureau of Land Management, the program is now administered by the BLM in cooperation with the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping.

Mr. Svenson has 22 years of experience with alignment and corridor, property, and site surveys as well as construction stakings and property corner establishment surveys. Currently, he is working on resurveying existing wells and developing new plats of surface locations for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation’s Salt Creek CO2 Project which is revitalizing a historic oil field.

The P.E. license enables Mr. Holwegner to approve design and construction drawings. He sat for his P.E. exam, a standardized, required part of the licensing process, in April 2010 and recently learned he passed. Before sitting for the test, Mr. Holwegner was required to receive a bachelor’s degree in engineering and have four years of experience under a licensed P.E.

Mr. Holwegner has more than five years of experience. Prior to receiving his P.E., he worked with WLC project managers as a design engineer learning the ins-and-outs of civil engineering. Mr. Holwegner is currently working on the civil engineering design for the Bar Nunn Industrial Center in the northern part of the Town.
