WLC ENGINEERING AND SURVEYING ACQUIRES ROBERT JACK SMITH & ASSOCIATES SURVEYING FIRM
Deal to Provide Only Civil Engineering Firm in Rawlins

Casper, Wyo., September 1, 2010 – WLC Engineering and Surveying, a Wyo.-based full-service civil and geotechnical engineering, surveying, materials testing, planning, grantwriting, and GIS firm, today announces the acquisition of Robert Jack Smith & Associates (RJS), a surveying consulting firm based in Rawlins, Wyo. Initially, the firm will conduct business as WLC Engineering and Surveying formerly Robert Jack Smith & Associates.

WLC will maintain the current staffing of RJS and will be providing additional services including civil and geotechnical engineering to area clients. This acquisition will make WLC the only civil engineering firm with offices in Rawlins and includes the two oldest surveying firms in state, WLC being the oldest. Shortly after the acquisition, WLC will actively search for a resident engineer as well as other employees to support the operations.

“WLC is excited about entering the Rawlins area market and our leaders feel this is a very strategic decision for our firm,” said Don Davis, President of WLC. “RJS has a great reputation in the region and WLC is confident we’ll maintain the same quality of work and service for our clients. We are looking forward to becoming a part of the Rawlins community and providing additional services to the area.”

In addition to engineering, services include materials testing, planning, grantswriting, and GIS. WLC utilizes employees from its various offices on projects around the state in order to provide expert and specialized assistance to clients.

Mr. Pedersen is currently an investigator for the Wyoming Board Of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, is a committeeman and past president for the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES), the organization responsible for overseeing the testing and examination of the engineer and surveyor registration, and is a life-long resident of Rawlins.
