WLC was hired by the Town of Wamsutter, Wyoming, for the 2024 infrastructure improvement project. WLC’s services include civil engineering design and construction contract administration. Funded by Sweetwater County’s Sixth Cent tax, the project design was completed in 2023 with construction beginning and completing in 2024. The project included the installation of 3,560 linear feet (LF) of 8” watermain, valves, bends, and service connections; 1,400 LF of 8” sanitary sewer, manholes, and service connections; 545 LF of 18” storm pipe, manholes, and laterals; 10,200 square yards of base course, asphalt paving, and patching; and other miscellaneous items.
During construction, WLC identified discrepancies in the existing water and sanitary sewer system records, which did not accurately reflect the actual configuration of the systems. To mitigate this challenge, field adjustments were made during construction, and several water valves were replaced, allowing the new water system connections to work efficiently. The project replaced critical infrastructure in the town, ensuring Wamsutter residents have reliable service for decades to come. The project was completed on time and within budget.
