WLC was hired by Big D to provide site plan development for two new gas stations and convenience stores in Mills and Casper, Wyoming. WLC’s services included land surveying and civil engineering design for site layout, utility design and permitting, drainage system study, site grading, and limited construction administration services. In regard to the Mills location, WLC also obtained a subconsultant for a geotechnical investigation.
The Casper location required coordination with utility providers, including the City of Casper, Rocky Mountain Power, and WYDOT, during design to ensure proper service for the building and accommodate existing large sewer utilities through the site in order to connect the new building to service lines. WLC utilized field data and as-built drawings from the City to ensure exact invert elevations of existing piping to make the proper depth connections.
The Mills location required WLC to manage the steep existing site grades and elevation changes to ensure the final site grading would meet the requirements of the large semi trucks that intend to use the gas station and convenience store. To do so, WLC performed several iterations of possible site grading plans and reviewed them thoroughly with the client to mitigate any complications before issuing final plans.
Both locations offer more options for residents and visitors to get gas and goods.
