WLC wrote and secured, on an emergency basis, a grant to replace the Natrona County Fire Protection District Medical Response Squad Vehicle (MRSV). The District’s original MRSV had failed in the line of duty three times within several months. Emergency grants are held to a high standard as they do not compete against other projects for funding. Throughout the grant, WLC was able to demonstrate the project represented a direct and immediate threat to the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Natrona County to be eligible for emergency consideration. Strict guidelines set by the State Loan and Investment Board required each municipality in the county and the Natrona County Commissioners to review the grant. WLC was still able to complete and submit the grant by the deadline and within budget.
