Enzi Drive Widening Project
The City of Gillette hired WLC for civil engineering design services on the Enzi Drive Widening project, totaling more than $2 million. WLC’s services included providing engineering design services to widen Enzi Drive from a 3 to 5-lane section and a detached pedestrian pathway following the corridor as well as street enhancements to accent the improvements. Storm drainage plans included an evaluation of Low Impact Development (LID) features to better facilitate environmental stewardship. The City of Gillette also hired WLC for construction management and administration as well as materials testing.
The project is approximately 1 mile from Donkey Creek to the Southern Drive Intersection and will provide the community with better traffic movement through the rapidly expanding southern part of town. The project was initiated to meet the increasing roadway capacity demands of community facilities such as Gillette College and the new Campbell County Recreation Center. Additionally, the pathway extension will enhance connectivity of the multi-use recreation trail system, promoting healthy lifestyles and decreasing safety issues.
Construction is projected for completion in 2011.
