In 2016, WLC Engineering and Surveying was hired by the Platte River Trails and Natrona County Parks Department to design and provide construction administration services of a 10 feet wide pathway along west side of Casper Mountain Road beginning at Campus Drive, adjacent to Casper College, extending south to Wyoming Boulevard. The entire path is approximately 2 miles in length and is the first phase in a three phase effort to link the City of Casper Metro area to Rotary Park. WLC utilized a creative design including a small amount of retaining wall, to address the challenging terrain and necessary drainage crossings within the available right-of-way. Also included with this project are the development of stationary, pedestrian pathway maps and a lighted pedestrian intersection crossing. The pedestrian lighting utilizes a controlled solar powered blinking crosswalk system creating a safer crossing of Casper Mountain Road.
